Anderlecht see mercenary Harwood-Bellis move to Stoke City

Taylor Harwood-Bellis seemed to become Wesley Hoedt’s permanent partner in the defense in the first half of the season. But in recent weeks, the teenager has disappeared from the picture and so Anderlecht let him return to England.

“He has done very well for us,” says CEO Peter Verbeke. “But by letting him leave, we create more space for players from our own academy such as Delcroix, Kana and Debast.”

Harwood-Bellis looks back positively on his time in Belgium. “I was able to play a lot and enjoyed my time at Anderlecht. I think I have also grown on a personal level. It was a new challenge, with new people and a different language.”

With Stoke City, Harwood-Bellis ends up at number 6 in the Championship. “Last year I already gained a lot of experience in this tough competition at Blackburn. I’m looking forward to it.”
