Stagflation and implosion

Governor Rubén Rocha Moya came out negative for covid-19 when the test was performed after the contagion suffered by his private secretary, Alejandro Higuera Osuna. Yesterday, however, his weekly conference (with new and stricter health security filters) was developed under the unknown of the result of the test to which the president of the republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, would submit “later”, according to he announced in his morning in a notoriously hoarse voice.

In the afternoon, the result was officially notified: AMLO tested positive for covid-19 again.

In addition to the natural concern given the friendship of more decades that unites him with López Obrador, the pending of Rocha Moya was the presidential visit scheduled for Sinaloa next Saturday, with the supervision of the works of the dam and the new town of Santa María in Rosario as the main point on the agenda.

Obviously, the realization or not of the tour depended on the result of the president’s covid test.

As it turns out positive, it is practically a fact that AMLO’s visit to Santa María should be rescheduled for a better time, like the rest of his activities.

Let’s hope the president recovers his health soon. And the Diablo Higuera and all the others infected, too.

NO ALARM. Governor Rubén Rocha sent a message of certainty to the population yesterday, stating in his weekly conference: “The fourth wave of covid will not stop Sinaloa.”

Normal activities will continue, he guaranteed, but we must continue with preventive health measures, in order to reduce infections.

There is no reason to deactivate society, he stressed. The issue must be handled with severe care, he said; Each event will have to be carried out with great responsibility on the part of all those involved, which is why it continues to bet on vaccination and preventive measures to control the number of infections.

To express question about the cancellation of massive social events, the governor announced that measures will be taken in accordance with the behavior of the contagion index and, in this way, develop strategies to face each new situation that arises.

In the case of the current omicron variant, he indicated, “its degree of danger indicates that preferably we do not confine society or set it on the alarm, but rather that we handle the issue with care and ensure that each event is carried out with great responsibility” .

On the other hand, the central theme of yesterday’s week was the announcement of the Community Transformation Program, focused on comprehensively serving populations with high marginalization rates, such as agricultural and fishing fields.

DBT, OF MOURNING. The EL DEBATE team suffers a sensitive loss with the death of who was our printing coordinator, José del Carmen Díaz Aguilera, a key piece for this newspaper to reach you for four decades.

El Güero we affectionately called his contemporaries and Don Güero, the new generations. Legions of debaters, old and new, we learned from José del Carmen his trade secrets that he shared generously, always ready to help his companions with fraternal humility.

We join our prayers with those of his relatives and invite, to remember him, to read the interview that, as a tribute in life, this work home conducted with him on October 22, 2019: “For me, THE DEBATE is the best ”.

Like few others, we can assure that El Güero dedicated his life, literally, to his work, with pleasure, discipline and responsibility, which he leaves as a legacy to those of us who survive him. Rest in peace and a strong hug of regret shared with the DBT team.
