The Minister of Health of the Nation, Carla Vizzotti, revealed that it is being evaluated to further reduce the number of days of isolation in the face of the exponential outbreak of coronavirus that is registered throughout the country, a few days after the sanitary protocol for the asymptomatic vaccinated people and narrow cases.
The minister admitted, “the greatest threat to the health system” is not that it is “saturated” with hospitalizations, but that “there are no doctors, doctors, nurses and therapists to be able to respond” to patients “because they are isolated” by the impact of the Omicron variant.
“We are constantly analyzing whether it is necessary, and if possible, to continue reducing the isolation of strategic personnel, always looking at the security and evidence that this measure generates,” Vizzotti said in dialogue with CNN Radio this Sunday.
“With a very mild variant, a population vaccinated in a large percentage and its reinforcements, and a very low risk of intra-occupational transmission, the possibility (of reducing) is certain. This week we will continue to analyze it, “said the head of the Health portfolio.
On December 29, Minister Vizzotti announced a reduction in the days of isolation to be fulfilled by people infected with coronavirus and close contacts who have the complete vaccination scheme. }
The agreement with the provinces, within the framework of the Federal Health Council (Cofesa), involved reducing the isolation from 10 to 5 days for close contacts of asymptomatic positive cases, provided that they have the complete vaccination scheme, while those that are positive with mild symptoms should be sheltered for 7 days.
