On Monday evening’s ARD “Tagesthemen” broadcast, Caren Miosga interviewed Wolfgang Ischinger, the former State Secretary and current head of the Munich Security Conference. However, Ischinger made a mistake right at the beginning of the conversation when he greeted the ARD presenter with “Good evening Ms. Slomka”. Marietta Slomka is, however, a presenter on ZDF, at “heute journal”.

Miosga corrected Ischinger briefly and with a smile: “My name is Miosga”, and then went straight to the interview. But Ischinger did not seem to notice the mix-up, two more times he called the ARD presenter by the wrong name.

She seemed to take it with humor and later tweeted an excerpt from the show with greetings to “Marietta and das heute journal”.

Other viewers were also amused by the confusion of names and suggested to Miosga that she could have called Ischinger by a false name.
