In this way, they reported that certain situations and recommendations must be taken into account to avoid the effect of heat on the animals; above all when the ambient temperature exceeds 25 degrees and the humidity reaches 50 percent for long periods of time.
How to prevent our pets from suffering from heat stroke?
Some of the recommendations issued by the College of Veterinarians of the province of Buenos Aires to minimize the impact on animals of the high temperatures expected this week are:
- Provide shade.
- Place them in ventilated places.
- Provide them with clean and fresh water.
- Take them out for a walk at appropriate times (in dogs with pathologies, respect their times and, if you have a walker, request individual walks).
- Under no circumstances leave them inside the cars.
Yellow Alert Week
According to the forecast of the National Meteorological Service (SMN), this week there will be a yellow alert due to high temperatures in almost the entire province of Buenos Aires, with the exception of a few eastern cities. The yellow risk level has a mild to moderate effect on health and can be dangerous, especially for risk groups (infants and young children, over 65 and people with chronic diseases).
