THE Corinthians achieved their third victory in three games in the group stage of the cup when overcoming the Saint Joseph this Monday, 10th, at the Estádio Municipal Doutor Mário Martins Pereira, in São José dos Campos. The highlight of the game was Pedro, 15 years old, who opened the scoring at the beginning of the second half; Giovanni closed the score already in injury time, taking a penalty. Corinthians coach Diogo Siston decided to take advantage of the fact that the team was already classified and spare the starting lineup, sending to the field a squad formed mostly by reserves. Even without the first team, Corinthians largely dominated the game and could have scored more than the two goals. In the next phase, the boys of the alvinegra team face Ituano, again in São José dos Campos, at a time and date to be defined. The home team was in the bottom of the group and was eliminated – the other place in the group went to Resende-RJ.
