‘3 in 1’ commentator spoke about accusations made by the President of the Republic and response given by the representative of the health agency
one day after Jair Bolsonaro question what would be the interest of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) behind the approval of the vaccination of children against Covid-19, the president of the agency, Antonio Barra Torres, countered the statements in a note. In response, Torres spoke about his career as a doctor, defended himself, denied any evidence of irregularities at the agency and demanded a retraction from the President of the Republic. “If you have information that raises the slightest indication of corruption on this Brazilian, don’t waste time or prevaricate, Mr. President. Determine an immediate police investigation on me, in fact, on anyone who works today at Anvisa, which I am proud to be part of”, he declared. “Now, if you don’t have such information or evidence, exercise the greatness that your position demands and, by the God you quote so much, retract,” he added. The program’s commentator “3 in 1“, gives Young pan, Bruna Torlay, believes that Barra Torres’ note was necessary and recalled that the Anvisa representative observed that people were receptive to vaccination in Brazil and worked to ensure that it happened.
“He’s not a boy, he’s not a politician involved in corruption, he’s not a person to be suspected, he’s a doctor and he has a duty to protect his reputation,” he said. She also recalled that the president of Anvisa, who was once part of the Brazilian Navy, acted as a member of the Armed Forces in search of pacification despite the presence of lobbyists behind the scenes at the agency. For her, Bolsonaro’s speech in relation to Anvisa was a “slippage” by the president. “He did very well in writing that letter. It is a worthy letter. There was no inquiry, no bullshit, he simply defended his honor and the institution he has represented”, he analyzed.
