In Darién, they inaugurated the new National Border Service guard post located in the Sambú district, Chepigana district.
This barracks is the last remaining to be inaugurated of the 8, modular types that were built in the First Eastern Brigade to replace the old ranch-type structures that were used.
The project for the 8 barracks had a total cost of B. / 1,803,037.74 and included the communities of Canaan Membrillo, Vista Alegre, Cucunatí, Bajo Chiquito, Tupiza, Capetí and Bateria 35 (National Police) in Escobal-Colón.
This structure has 75m2 with capacity for 6 and 8 units and is fully equipped with the necessary equipment; It is provided with a drinking water tank, laundry, electric plant, dining area, kitchen, stables, hygienic bathrooms, among other amenities.
President Laurentino Cortizo stated that this new guard post offers our units that risk their lives, a dignified infrastructure and the communities a better service.
