Free voter boss Hubert Aiwanger warns of a possible food shortage like that Editorial network Germany notifies. The Corona crisis has already shown in other areas “that the sustainability of the supply chains is at risk,” said the Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs on Thursday at the digital Epiphany meeting of his party. He means:
“As a farmer, I warn that in the end the same phenomenon will reach us when it comes to food.”
At the moment, groceries are readily available at low prices. “Today we are still of the opinion: the refrigerator is full,” said Aiwanger. But: “It could turn out differently.” It should not happen that Germany makes itself dependent on imports for food. Keepers of domestic pigs are “politically underestimated” and are therefore now in an “existential crisis”. He showed his warning with a concrete example:
“If people were to argue about the last schnitzel or the last bratwurst at the refrigerated counter and then the announcement came: 14 days nothing new will follow, then things would go around politically in this country”
