Yekaterinburg in the morning of October 14 was covered with smog from the peat bogs smoldering on the outskirts of the city. Residents of the city began to complain about the low visibility and the smell of burning. Rospotrebnadzor recorded an excess of the maximum permissible concentration of harmful substances in four districts of the city. Due to the smoke, the Yekaterinburg ring road was partially blocked, flights were delayed at Koltsovo airport, and students of several schools were transferred to distance learning. Forecasters warned that harmful impurities in the air can only dissipate on October 17. How smog looks like in Yekaterinburg – in our photo gallery.
