Southampton – Thursday, 14.10.2021, 23:52
Southampton’s trainer Ralph Hasenhüttl faces a penalty.
The Styrian had after the 1: 3 defeat of the English football Premier League tables -17. at Chelsea on October 2nd to criticize video referee Mike Dean and has therefore now been charged by the national association (FA) for inappropriate behavior. The 54-year-old ex-Leipzig coach has until Tuesday to comment on the matter.
The reason for Hasenhüttl’s anger was an expulsion of James Ward-Prowse. He first saw yellow, but red after VAR intervention and viewing the TV pictures of Referee Martin Atkinson.
“I knew that if Mike Dean was the VAR, the referee would look at the matter again,” said Hasenhüttl. In a BBC radio interview he also added: “I always have a bit of a problem when Mike Dean is the VAR because we haven’t had a good experience with him, to be honest.”
Southampton are still without a win after seven rounds, the next chance for the first success is in the home duel with Leeds United on Saturday.
