For UVC Graz, the premiere adventure of the Volleyball Champions League came to an end on Thursday evening.

In the second leg of the first preliminary round of the “premier class” in front of around 1,000 spectators, the champions have to admit defeat to Slovakian UJS Komarno 1: 3 (17, -23, -16, -16). A week ago they lost their first game away 3-0. For the people of Murstadt, the CEV Cup will continue in November.

The Styrians experience a dream start with a 25:17 in the Raiffeisen Sportpark, but then fail to make it 2-0. After the sentence adjustment, they are in a lost position. “It’s a shame, we really had a chance today. Unfortunately, we couldn’t maintain the level of the first two sets. From the third, the air was a bit out,” sums up Graz top scorer Lorenz Koraimann.

In the second qualifying round of the CEV Cup, the Graz team face the Romanian club Dinamo Bucharest. Aich / Dob will be in the sixteenth finals, and at the beginning of December there will be a showdown with the multiple Champions League winner Zenit Kazan.
