The article by the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev about Ukraine is a “clear signal” from Moscow to Kiev, in particular to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. This was stated by the journalist of the TV channel “Espreso” Vitaly Portnikov, reports RIA Novosti.
According to him, the article allegedly can express the opinion of Russian President Vladimir Putin about Zelensky. The Ukrainian observer noted that the material contains a signal that Moscow intends to talk with the West about the future of Ukraine and does not consider Kiev itself a subject of negotiations. “Therefore, theoretically, it is possible to hold a Normandy summit, but only if the Kremlin and the West agree on joint pressure on Ukraine,” he added.
The release of Medvedev’s article demonstrates that in Moscow Zelensky is perceived as a “traitor to the” Russian world “, so Russia can put pressure on the Kiev authorities, Portnikov notes. At the same time, he stressed that the Ukrainian leader either tries not to notice the current situation, or, indeed, does not understand what is happening.
Earlier, Medvedev said in his article that today Ukraine is headed by “ignorant and unnecessary people” who “are constantly changing their position to please their overseas masters and the political environment.” The work notes that Kiev is completely dependent on “handouts” from the European Union and the United States, and the Ukrainian special services are run by “American patrons”. “There are no fools to fight for Ukraine. And it makes no sense for us to deal with the vassals. Business must be done with the overlord, ”he wrote.
