Paris – Thursday, October 14th, 2021, 1:54 pm

The Tour de France 2022, presented on Thursday in Paris, will run from July 1st to 24th over 3,328 km from Copenhagen to Paris.

The 109th edition comes up with a wind-prone start in Denmark, cobblestones in northern France and sometimes very steep climbs in the Vosges, Alps and Pyrenees. As has long been known, the start will take place in Copenhagen, where the first of three stages in Denmark will be staged with a 13 km time trial.

After the transfer, defending champion Tadej Pogacar and Co. in northern France will have a paving stone section on parts of the Paris-Roubaix route and a detour to Belgium on the program.

The first of five mountain arrivals takes place on the occasion of the seventh stage in La Planche des Belles Filles. The legendary ascent to L’Alpe d’Huez and other difficult Alpine stages – including a visit to Switzerland – and the Pyrenees are also on the tough program. On the penultimate day, a long, second time trial follows from Lacapelle Marival to Rocamadour with a 40 km section before the traditional finish on the Champs-Elysees in Paris.

The route of the Tour de France Femmes, which was held for the first time and started on the final day of the men’s race in Paris, was also presented. The end point after eight stages is the mountain arrival in La Planche des Belles Filles.
