First Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman called on Russia to do more to cut through Europe’s energy security. She stated this during a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, according to the website of the State Department.
In his Twitter-Account Sherman also noted that the meeting with Overchuk was productive. The American diplomat stressed that Washington will continue to work to build stable and predictable relations with Moscow, while at the same time calling for decisive action in the field of combating climate change and ensuring energy security in Europe.
Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia commented on the meeting in the State Department with the First Deputy Secretary of State of the United States Wendy Sherman. Overchuk, leaving the building of the American ministry, to the journalists’ question about how the conversation went, replied: “excellent.” It is noted that he left the Foreign Ministry accompanied by Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov.
