The Government and the PP have reached an agreement this Thursday to renew the Constitutional Court, the Court of Accounts, the Ombudsman and the Data Protection Agency, as confirmed by sources from La Moncloa and the PP. The pact has left out the General Council of the Judicial Power (CGPJ), as the PP wanted. The agreement has been closed in less than 48 hours after several meetings between the general secretary of the PP, Teodoro García Egea, and the Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Félix Bolaños.
The renewal of these bodies will take place in a plenary session that is expected to be held the week of October 25, both in the Congress of Deputies and in the Senate. The people who will be part of these bodies in the new stage will be “of recognized prestige and consensus” and will be announced in the coming days, according to the PP.
