The Court of Accounts does not accept the endorsement of the Catalan Government to cover the bonds of the 'procés'

The examining delegate of the Court of Accounts Esperanza García Moreno has agreed to reject the guarantees presented by the Catalan Institute of Finance to face the solidarity bond of 5.4 million euros imposed on the 42 exalted positions of the Generalitat of Catalonia who allocated that Amount of public funds to actions abroad to promote the Catalan independence process (‘procés’).

The decision of the examiner is actionable, but, in the event that those affected by the accounting responsibility process do not present the required bond, the seizure of their assets must be initiated.

For its part, the Chamber of Justice of the Court of Accounts has rejected the appeals filed by politicians and officials of the Generalitat of Catalonia involved in the accounting responsibility procedure related to the promotion of the Catalan independence process abroad. Among them are former presidents Artur Mas and Carles Puigdemont, as well as former vice president Oriol Junqueras.
