The Ministry of Health has published this Thursday the update of the figures of infections, hospitalizations and deaths from coronavirus in Spain and, compared to yesterday’s report, the total number of people infected by COVID-19 has increased by 1,932, so the national total of infected already rises to 4,982,138 people since the start of the pandemic.
In addition, Health has reported 48 new deaths from the SARS-CoV-2 infection compared to Wednesday’s data, which brings the official death toll since the beginning of the pandemic to 86,917.
Regarding the cumulative incidence nationwide in 14 days, the figure has dropped another 0.93 points during the last 24 hours to stand at 40.52 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In this way, Spain remains at low risk for coronavirus.
With 1,908 people admitted (34 less than on Monday), the hospital occupancy fell slightly this Monday to 1.57% while the occupancy in the ICU, where 486 patients remain (21 less than on Monday), stands at 4 , 98%. This is the first time since mid-August 2020 that lThe occupancy of the Spanish ucis drops by 5%.
Almost 90% have received at least one dose
The Ministry of Health has also reported that Spain has administered 60,050 vaccines in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses administered to 70,919,608.
The number of people who have received at least one dose rises to 37,846,897 people, representing 79.8% of the population (89.9% of the target population). In addition, the number of people who have received the complete vaccination schedule reaches 36,994,918, that is, 78.0% of the population (87.8% of the target population).
