“Among the relevant aspects of this meeting, the concern of both countries about the increase in the passage of irregular migrants stands out, aggravated by the effects of natural disasters, climate change, the economic crisis and the covid-19 pandemic”, said the Panamanian Foreign Ministry.
So far this year some 107,000 migrants on mobility have gone through Panama, an unprecedented figure, and that number is expected to be around 150.000 at the end of 2021said the Panamanian Minister of Public Security.
