The woman tells local media that she is not sorry that officers felt compelled to remove her from the hospital. According to UF Health North in Jacksonville, Florida, Lynn Savage, 70, did not adhere to visiting hours and the facility adhered to protocol. Daughter Amber was recovering from brain surgery at the time. “I could not leave her bed with a clear conscience and a good heart, not knowing how she would get through the night,” she told news channel WKRC.
Savage had been with her daughter since early that morning. A doctor asked her to calm down Amber. “As soon as I got to her bed, everything was fine.” In the evening a nurse said that she really had to go home. “According to the corona rules, I had to leave.”
The security guards who came to pick up the woman “were very friendly. They kept trying to persuade me to leave.” In the end, the police had to intervene and Savage even ended up in jail for a day. “It was terrifying, but I would rather be in jail than voluntarily run away from my daughter.”
