Markus Lanz (ZDF): Will THIS woman be the new CDU chairwoman? Laumann: “Doesn’t fit”

Apparently, the CDU leadership wants to curb the public discussion about the leadership crisis in the party. The media should concentrate more on the traffic light sounding. Laumann also sees that. His union does not have to play “sole entertainers” if coalition negotiations are ongoing at the same time.

Then the social politician talks to Markus Lanz about the future of his party. The Union does not need a fresh head as a boss, he says: “It will not be possible for anyone who does not have a certain political experience”.

Lanz lists the names that come into question: Friedrich Merz, Norbert Röttgen, Ralph Brinkhaus, Carsten Linnemann, Jens Spahn – five men, all from North Rhine-Westphalia. On the one hand, he does not see any suitable women in his party for the top position at the moment, and on the other hand, he does not believe in a double leadership with which one could build up the Prien, which is still quite unknown in federal politics.

Markus Lanz (ZDF): That’s why Laumann is against a CDU member survey

Laumann also has reservations about the membership survey favored by many. The reason: The membership of the party is not representative. “Of course, the CDU members no longer reflect our electorate,” said Laumann. The party members are on average too old for that.
