Spain’s national soccer player Ferran Torres injured his foot in the Nations League and is absent from his club Manchester City for an indefinite period.
The English Premier League club announced on Thursday that Torres suffered a “small fracture” in his right foot. City made no information about the downtime of the 21-year-old striker. According to Spanish media reports, the break could last six weeks.
It is therefore not ruled out that Torres will miss the Spaniards in the World Cup qualification in mid-November. The Iberians are two points behind the leaders Sweden in their group, the direct World Cup ticket is only available to the first place.
Torres is one of the permanent staff under coach Luis Enrique. He scored both goals in the 2-1 semi-final win against Italy last week. He was also in the starting line-up for the Spaniards in their 2-1 defeat against France in the final on Sunday. In the 84th minute, however, he was replaced.
