AK Party Member of Parliament Duran, who took the floor in the speeches section of the IMM Assembly at Yenikapı Kadir Topbaş Performance and Art Center, made statements about internet access in the subways.
INTERNET SERVICE STARTS IN MARMARAY
Duran said, “As of Friday, our Ministry of Transport begins to provide internet service on Marmaray. From now on, you will be able to benefit from internet access on every metro line where you will see the letter U. There are measures to be taken by the IMM administration for safe internet in our subways. In this regard, we hereby declare that we, as the ruling party, will give all necessary support.”
CHP Member of Parliament Mesut Kösedağı also took the floor and stated that the necessary permission has not yet been received for the internet access of the subways requested by the IMM from the Governor’s Office and the Ministry of Interior.
Kösedağı stated that there should be no discrimination between the subways, “If there is internet in the subway, everyone should be able to use it, regardless of the letter U or M. Did that permission come from the Ministry of Interior? If any information is shared with us, we will start our work as soon as possible.” he said.
Zeynel Abidin Okul, the 1st Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, who moderated the session, stated that no one is against internet access in the subways and noted that the internet has not been available until now due to security and terrorist acts.
AK Party Group Spokesperson Murat Türkyılmaz emphasized that this issue should not be a political material and stated that people’s safety of life and property is important.

Expressing that safe internet will be available in all subways, Türkyılmaz said, “I hope that safe internet, that is, with the measures and measures that will ensure the health and property health of people, good luck to our young brothers in Istanbul and to all Istanbulites. I say turn on wifi.” he said.
Noting that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has determined some security protocols, Türkyılmaz noted that internet access will be available in other metros after these protocols are completed.
