Infonavit trusts in the economic recovery after a survey of companies

MEXICO CITY.- The Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) published the Performance Survey and National Prospective of Companies in Mexico corresponding to the third quarter of 2021, in which eight out of 10 employers indicated that during the next year the country’s economy will improve or remain the same.

According to the document, of the more than 2,000 companies surveyed, 76% foresee that in the next six months their income will increase or stabilize.

Likewise, 68% He estimates that in less than a year his business will regain the pre-pandemic level.

In line with these expectations, most employers expect an increase or stabilization of their income in the short term, which would allow them to recover the status they had before the COVID-19 health emergency in less than 12 months.

Similarly, 42% of the companies made new hires, either to fill a new job position.what an existing vacancy.

What’s more, 32% of employers reported having granted a salary increase to someone or all your workers.

As part of the economic recovery observed in the first half of this year and the good expectations for the following months, fewer companies experienced a technical strike, this indicator being below the 20% registered in the previous quarters.

The National Prospective and Performance Survey of Companies in Mexico is an exercise carried out by Infonavit on a quarterly basis, analogous to the Monthly Survey of Business Opinion carried out by Instituto NNational Statistics and Geography, which serves to measure the pulse of the country’s employers on the dynamism of their companies and the economy in general.

For the preparation of this survey, conducted between July 20 and September 2, 2021, 2,165 companies with workers who contribute to Infonavit were interviewed; being a representative sample of the almost 940 thousand companies that make contributions to the Housing Sub-account.
