Huawei calls for cooperation for the development of 5G

According to the Huawei statement, the Global Mobile Broadband Forum (MBBF), which the company organizes every year, started yesterday in Dubai.

Giving the opening speech of the event, which was held for the 12th time this year, Huawei Vice Chairman Ken Hu evaluated the current situation in the development of 5G and touched on future opportunities.

Ken Hu stated that 5G has provided consumers with an important mobile connection experience in the commercial use and distribution process, and has already contributed to the development of different industries around the world.

Noting that the increase in the number of subscribers, coverage and 5G terminals was above expectations, Ken Hu said:

“Despite STABLE PROGRESS, THERE ARE STILL SOME AREAS THAT NEED IMPROVEMENT”

“Currently, there are 176 commercial 5G networks serving more than 500 million subscribers worldwide. On a consumer basis, the average 5G download speed is about 10 times faster than 4G, which enables applications such as virtual reality (VR) and 360-degree broadcasting to reach wider audiences. In the corporate field, we can say that more than 10 thousand projects have already discovered the use of 5G in the business world (5GtoB). On the other hand, 5G applications in sectors such as production, mining and port management have already left the trial stage and their number continues to increase. Despite steady progress, it is still improving “There are some areas that are needed. More than half of the 10 thousand enterprise 5G projects currently mentioned are ongoing in China. There are many projects already, but we need to create more sustainable business examples.”

PANDEMIC AND TECHNOLOGY

Ken Hu also touched upon the accelerated digital transformation caused by the pandemic, the fact that cloud computing and artificial intelligence have become indispensable for businesses, and the long-term transformation processes specific to the IT industry.

Emphasizing that the pandemic has caused significant changes in technology, business and economy in the last 2 years, Ken Hu said, “As the world begins to overcome the effects of the epidemic, we need to be prepared for new opportunities.” used the phrase.
