Unknown persons disrupted the screening of the film “Gareth Jones” in the premises of the “International Memorial” (included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent) in Moscow. This was reported by Kommersant.

According to the publication’s correspondent Yana Rozhdestvenskaya, the film began at 19:00 Moscow time, but after 20 minutes “some thugs burst into the hall,” hiding their faces with medical masks. “At first they yelled,“ Everyone on the floor, ”then they jumped onto the stage and started shouting“ Down with fascism, ”something about traitors, about the sale of the Motherland, and so on,” she shared.

According to Rozhdestvenskaya, along with the unknown came the film crew of the NTV channel. At the same time, the co-chair of Memorial, Irina Ostrovskaya, added that besides them, “there was a woman from another state channel who had already made false stories about us.”

The film “Gareth Jones” was released in 2019. He tells the story of a British journalist who witnessed a famine in the villages of Ukraine in 1933. Ostrovskaya stressed that the organization has permission to show the tape.

The International Human Rights Society “Memorial” was included in the register of organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent in 2016.
