Delphine Jubillar's husband before the examining magistrates

MISCELLANEOUS FACTS – Will a decisive questioning or will the fog persist? Ten months after the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar, her husband Cédric will be presented to the examining magistrates this Friday, October 15 and questioned on the merits of the case, a first since his arrest in June.

After two days in police custody, he was indicted on June 18 for “intentional homicide by spouse” and imprisoned after contradictory statements in his account of the disappearance of his wife on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020. Le her body was not found.

The file raises several questions: why his pedometer only displays 40 steps on the counter when Cédric Jubillar claims to have looked for Delphine before the arrival of the gendarmes? Why did you start a washing machine with his wife’s duvet at 5 a.m.?

Three requests for release rejected

Cédric Jubillar also ensured that the separation of the couple, in the process of divorce, took place “in a non-confrontational manner”. Statements still contradicted by the elements of the investigation depicting a man “brutal, rude, aggressive including towards his children”, had declared the public prosecutor of Toulouse Dominique Alzear.

The 34-year-old drywall painter nevertheless claims his innocence and has requested his release on three occasions. A request invariably rejected by the courts.

Meanwhile, the investigation is stalling. For months, searches to find the 33-year-old nurse have continued around Cagnac-les-Mines, in the Tarn, where the couple lived with their two children. A team of speleologists from the gendarmerie was even dispatched to conduct basement searches on October 6. In vain.

“This file is empty of proof”

Beginning of September, reports The Parisian, the investigators also resumed the hearings with friends and acquaintances of Cédric Jubillar, focusing the questions on places where he could have hidden a corpse.

So could the hearing this Friday give a boost to the investigation? According to The Dauphine, Cédric Jubillar must in any case clear up the gray areas and inconsistencies by answering several questions such as: why was his phone turned off between 10:08 p.m. and 3:54 a.m., the night his wife disappeared, when he usually leaves it on? Why would his wife have gone out for a walk the dogs at night when it was not in her habit? Why, the night of Delphine’s disappearance, Cédric logged into a dating site and played Game of Thrones online?

“The fact that there is neither a body nor a confession does not prevent a suspect from being referred to the assizes. This is a frequent case. Guilt can be established on the basis of a bundle of clues ”, recalls a magistrate.

Cédric Jubillar’s lawyer, Me Alexandre Martin, assured him of South Radio that nothing proved the guilt of his client. “Yes, there are searches and my client will answer questions. But there are months of investigation and why the judges haven’t questioned him since June? This file is empty of proof! ”
