Road traffic will be restricted on the Vasco da Gama Bridge, between 21:00 on Saturday and 15:00 on Sunday, due to the performance of sports events in the Lisbon Marathon, Lusoponte announced this Thursday in a statement.
It is also informed that the transport of athletes to the place of the match is carried out exclusively by buses dedicated for this purpose and departing from Parque das Nações”, says the concessionaire for the road crossing over the Tagus River.
In the statement, Lusoponte “thanks” all customers for their understanding “for the inconveniences” that the event may cause.
After the break in 2020, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the Lisbon Marathon, the Half Marathon and the Mini Marathon will return to the national and international calendar, on Sunday, and will feature the participation of some of the best athletes from various specialties, in an event that will take place with some restrictions, such as the limited number of 11,500 participants.
The 21st edition of the Half Marathon, starting at 10:30 am at Ponte Vasco da Gama and finishing at Praça do Comércio, will take place simultaneously with the Mini Marathon, over a distance of eight kilometers.
