Active participants of extremist Telegram channels revealed in Belarus

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Belarus has revealed the identities of almost all active participants and administrators of extremist Telegram channels and chats. This was stated by the head of the department of the main department for combating organized crime and corruption of the department Vyacheslav Orlovsky, whose commentary was published on the YouTube channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.

According to him, the work on deanonymization has been completed by now. Orlovsky explained that information products used to involve citizens in extremist activities, their propaganda and recognized as extremist by a court decision, are extremist.

The representative of the Belarusian ministry stressed that the creators, organizers and members of extremist groups will be prosecuted. He noted that all messages posted in instant messengers and social networks encouraging extremist activities, as well as other actions of Internet users to create protest activity, are “thoroughly documented” by law enforcement agencies.

Earlier it was reported that Belarus would create a list of citizens, foreigners and public organizations involved, in the opinion of the country’s leadership, in extremist activities. Along with this, a republican commission will appear in the country, which will study the “information products” and symbols “for the presence of signs of extremism in them.”
