PARAÍSO, Tab.- About 500 workers from the ICA Fluor company who are building the Dos Bocas refinery and who have participated in the demonstrations demanding a salary increase and better benefits, they were removed from their work area and had their employee credentials taken away.

“The disagreement is that we told the person in charge of the work that if we were going to work normally but that they were responsible for the days off, but they say that they are not being responsible, but that we had to so they could pay us ”, denounced Luis Antonio, one of the retired workers.

He also reported that even when they were not attacked, they took away their cell phones to erase their videos and photos, and they also took away their credentials from just over 500 employees. “They are not going to let us in anymore. It is not fair because it is not our fault, because if things were going well with the company there would not be these work stoppages ”, he said.

For his part, Governor Carlos Manuel Merino Campos described the confrontation between workers at the Dos Bocas refinery as a sad and regrettable event. and elements of the state police, affirming that this conflict must be resolved through dialogue. “Apparently there are differences between trade unions and I always believe that we must exhaust the path of dialogue, in any situation to agree, workers are completely free where to be and where to belong,” he said.
