A 24-year-old Turkish woman is the tallest woman in the world, according to confirmation from the Guinness World Record.
Rumeysa Gelgi, 2.15 meters tall, suffers from a condition called Weaver syndrome, which causes rapid growth.
Rumeysa was once considered the tallest young adult in the world at age 18. Due to her condition, the young woman travels in a wheelchair but is also able to use a walking frame when it comes to short distances.
Due to the media coverage achieved through the Guinness, Gelgi wants to inform people about rare diseases, as is the example of Weaver.
Every disadvantage can be reversed in our favor. The important thing is to accept, to be aware of our potential and to give our best”, he wrote in a statement, adding that, although people are always intrigued by their height, they are usually polite and supportive.
Remember that the tallest man in the world is also Turkish, his name is Sultan Kösen and he is 2.51 meters tall.
