Police from the Yerba Buena Criminal Investigations Unit managed to kidnap a car, a motorcycle and two cell phones, the product of three raids that took place in different parts of the Capital on Wednesday, following in the footsteps of a criminal gang. In addition, there are three people being investigated for the cause.
The judicial measures were specified in the investigative framework that began because of several robberies that occurred in different homes in Yerba Buena. One of them occurred at the end of last month when three people from this gang entered a house located in Paraguay at 600 with the purpose of committing an illicit act. At that moment, the owner realized the situation and used the neighborhood alarm that scared off the criminals. However, they managed to steal the keys to a vehicle and $ 5,000.
Alerted by the neighborhood alarm, motorists who were making preventive tours, arrived at the scene and surprised the suspects escaping in a Renault Clío. “At that time, a persecution began against the criminals where they finally managed to flee after firing at police vehicles,” he explained. Nicolás Marchant, second head of the Yerba Buena Investigation Unit.
Another of the events that added to the history of this criminal gang was a ‘scruch’, a type of robbery in homes when the residents are absent. “In this case, it happened last Sunday, in a house located at 500 Pedro de Villalba street when the criminals managed to seize three televisions, jewelry and cash and then flee in a gray Chevrolet Prisma,” said Marchant.
By checking the film records, the details of the patent, decals and tires of the vehicles used by the authors, and different testimonies, the Special Unit was able to identify the possible members of the gang.
Therefore, and with the intervention of the prosecutor Pedro Gallo, belonging to the II ° Robbery and Theft Tax Unit, the judge was requested to Maria Apás Pérez de Nucci that two raids be carried out in the Barrio 11 de Marzo and another on Williams Blis street, in the Mercofrut area. In the latter location, supervised by the General Director of Criminal Investigations, Inspector Commissioner Jorge Dib, the officers found the Chevrolet Prisma, the cell phones and a motorcycle that had a request to be hijacked for another robbery that occurred in September of this year.
Judge Alfredo Palacios ordered that the elements found be seized at the disposal of the Justice. Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing.
