Juan Américo González (or “Shushu” for his acquaintances) is a native of La Plata who has been living in Spain for several years and who these days reached levels of fame that he had never imagined. The reason is his participation in nothing less than the successful La Voz contest, where he shines as a singer and with his talent for playing the piano before the gaze of a luxury jury made up of internationally renowned figures such as Alejandro Sanz and Pablo Alborán.
From the town of Castelldefels on the outskirts of Barcelona, where he has lived since 1998, this 44-year-old from La Plata told EL DIA that he was surprised by the repercussions he got from his presence in the successful music contest, which is broadcast on Spanish prime time. by Antena 3 and that in just four broadcasts it has taken over the television rating.
Juan said that he managed to advance in the program and continues in the race with very good results beyond the demands of the jury and the artistic quality of all the participants. In that sense, he highlighted the fact of living a moment of full happiness. “Now a part was recorded, there were definitions and I managed to move forward. The first part of the program that is the most watched in Spain has already been broadcast and surely soon we will record again, advancing to the final instances,” he commented.
As he highlighted, he shares moments with distinguished artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Pablo Alborán, Malú and Luis Fonzi, who are the members of the jury. “What I liked the most about La Voz was Pablo Alborán, it was spectacular to sing with him and play the piano,” he said. “They treat you very well, they are very close. And the set is spectacular, everything is measured, everything to the millimeter,” he said.
Regarding what is coming, he anticipated that “now the jury has to find 14 people for each team, then when they finish some battles are held, and then there will be 15 participants.” In this regard, he was happy to have already passed several musical galas and hinted that he has been preparing very well because he keeps rehearsing and performing at different shows in Barcelona.
Upon his arrival at La Voz, he recalled that it was his girlfriend who repeatedly insisted that he sign up. “She was the one who drove this whole adventure, the one who told me to sign up. So I went to a casting, and to another, and I passed tests, until I was finally selected. And now that the program started I went through so many stages” , celebrated.
His television appearance on the other hand meant a 180 degree turn, and the reason is that people recognize him on the street. On the repercussions and that moment of fame that he is going through, he expressed that “the truth is that I am very well and the most important thing is that a lot of people from Argentina support me, which is re nostalgic and it moved me a lot”.
“When you see the people’s affection, it’s fantastic. At school, the mothers and the people here in Castells … it’s incredible. On Friday I played in a resto on the beach and they already said that it was from La Voz, that is, there a lot of repercussion for the program, “he described. And he added: “People see me and recognize me, in my town everyone recognizes me. I am famous for the moment, as long as there is good vibes I get along well.”
Meanwhile, in La Plata, his family and loved ones closely follow everything that happens with his artistic experience on television. “For them this is beautiful, it is a source of pride for my parents, my sister. Nothing big has to happen, but this is very beautiful. Also my cousins in La Plata are happy, they dedicate themselves to music like me”, projection
