New housing concepts can become an alternative in countries like Spain where accessing a roof is really difficult considering the prices. With the skyrocketing construction costs, formats that escape the traditional brick emerge with proposals for prefabricated modular homes.
While that of modular homes is not something really new, with authentic mansions made from containers, the concept of the Nestron Cube Two X is. Nestron, a company based in Singapore, manages to integrate everything necessary in a prism taking minimalism to its finest.
After launching the Cube One and Cube Two, the X version is an evolution from this last platform with an improved space scratching square centimeters to a prefabricated house that lacks nothing.
The futuristic interior and exterior design of the Cube Two X more reminiscent of a space capsule from any science fiction movie than a traditional home. Unsurprisingly, the prefab home is heavily loaded with home automation and smart home devices that further enhance the experience.
This latest edition of the Cube saga comes with 30% more space compared to the Cube Two -without surname- reaching a surface of 35 square meters on the only floor that it has in a distribution of 10 x 3.5 meters. In which a total of 3 spaces can be differentiated: kitchen with dining room, bathroom and a room that is complemented by a desk area.
Windows are also an essential element of the cubicle with a large window in the bedroom and horizontal windows in the kitchen area. “The installation of windows brings more charm to the entire space, flooding it with natural light and giving you a more open view,” they emphasize from the company.
Surely one of the concerns of a potential buyer of this type of house is how resistant they are when facing inclement weather and natural disasters. According to Nestron, its designers have thought about that and the structure of the house is made of galvanized steel -zinc steel- resistant to earthquakes, hurricanes and typhoons.
They also advertise that 90% of the materials used to build their homes – including Cubre Two X – are recyclable at the end of the home’s useful life. The company ensures that its buildings have a 50-year structural warranty.
The available options -still on plan- consist of one- or two-room schemes to be chosen by the buyer. Also available options are the underfloor heating, induction hob, projectors and washing machine.
Full of technology
Sustainable development, in addition to the use of recyclable materials, involves the installation of a system of solar panels that feed batteries and composting toilets. Although it does not mean that the Cube modules can also be connected to the network of conventional water, sewage, gas and electricity supplies.
As for the embedded technology devices Inside the house, Nestronn has included electronic locks, electric shutters, lights with motion detection and piped music as basic equipment. In extras, the company offers smart mirrors, tablets on the wall for home automation control, smart appliances, and even smart toilets.
The house can also be fully integrate with the most famous virtual assistants such as Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. But Nestron is already working on his own assistant that he calls Canny. The Nestron Cube Two X is available from $ 98,000 (85,000 euros to change) with the most basic equipment and is in the reserve period. According to the company, the houses are shipped fully assembled (with furniture included) and shipped anywhere on the planet.
