The Police confirmed that the perpetrator of the attack in Yerba Buena was talking about "bullying" and of "revenge"

The Police are investigating the circumstances in which a 29-year-old young man entered an office building located on Aconquija and Chacho Peñaloza avenues, Yerba Buena, and shot a 27-year-old woman, who is hospitalized in grave Been to Padilla hospital.

The assailant was officially identified as Geronimo Helguera, 29 years old. The versions indicate that he would have a history of psychiatric problems, although this has not yet been confirmed by the authorities.

Apparently, the man showed up at the building around 11 a.m., carrying a backpack.

According to the first data collected by the agents, once he reached the first floor of the building, he saw Mariela Marquez, 27, who is in charge of cleaning the place. Without a word, he pulled a 22-caliber pistol from his backpack and shot the young woman in the head.

Office employees managed to reduce it and called the 911 Emergency System. The Yerba Buena Motorized Patrol, led by Deputy Commissioner Cristhian Díaz, arrived at the scene and arrested the attacker.

“While (Helguera) was being transferred to the Yerba Buena police station, he said he was looking for a former high school classmate (a certain Ledesma) who bullying, and that’s why she wanted revenge on him. According to the people who work there, there is no partner of the aggressor. They also managed to seize the firearm that had been thrown in a trash can in the bathroom, “said the head of the North Regional Unit, Damian Soria, who also worked on the incident together with the members of the Yerba Buena Police Station.

Soria highlighted “the quick action of the 911 Motorized Patrol personnel, who arrived at the scene in minutes, managing to apprehend the aggressor, who was at the disposal of the Justice.”

The work of the 911 patrols was supervised by the acting head of the General Directorate of Citizen Prevention, Inspector Commissioner Jorge Mastafa.

From the Police they indicated that they will continue with the investigations to fully clarify the fact.
