The fourth beta of iOS 15.1 and other operating systems is now available for developers

Apple has just released the fourth beta version of iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, tvOS 15.1, and watchOS 8.1. These versions are available to all developers and can be downloaded via OTA. In the case of a fourth beta version, we estimate that there will be rather few news and quite a few performance improvements and bug fixes.

Polishing SharePlay, Dolby Atmos and small details

The main novelty of iOS 15.1 is the presence of SharePlay, which takes the experience of calling on FaceTime much further. Recall that this is a feature that was announced at WWDC, but was later removed from iOS 15 to finish making some final adjustments.

Another novelty that is just being polished in the iOS 15.1 betas is the Lossless and Dolby Atmos audio support on HomePod. Some audio formats that we will soon be able to play on our favorite speakers. Support for vaccination certificates is also added in the Wallet app.

If we want to enter the beta cycle we can do it by following these steps, but it is necessary to bear in mind that we are talking about development versions containing bugs.

Already within the beta cycle, we will find the update in the app Settings as an OTA update. During the first hours, Apple servers can receive more demand than usual, so the waiting time can be lengthened.
