The president of the Government, Pedro Sanchez, has awarded his head sociologist, the socialist Jose Felix Tezanos, with a budget of 11 million euros -almost two more than in 2021- for the Sociological Research Center (CIS) that he presides for the year 2022. And this, despite the fact that Tezanos is charged since last week by the head of the Court of Instruction 29 of Madrid for alleged embezzlement of public funds after the complaint filed by Vox against him.
This appears in the bill of the General State Budgets for 2022, which has been presented this Wednesday in the Courts for parliamentary processing and where this item of 11,087,090 euros for the CIS directed by Tezanos. This is the body attached to the Ministry of Presence in charge of carrying out electoral polls, which Tezanos has manipulated for the benefit of the PSOE, a party in which it has been active for decades.
It’s about a increase of 21.49% with respect to the 2021 Budget, currently in force and approved last December by Congress. Specifically, the CIS, the body chaired by the socialist sociologist José Félix Tezanos, will have a total of 11.08 million euros next year, compared to the 9.12 million it has had this year, almost two million more than they represent an increase of 21.49%. In the 2021 Budgets, the Government also increased the budget for the CIS, which went from 8.05 to 9.12 million.
The increase in the money allocated to this organization is fundamentally reflected in the increase in its spending on goods and services, for which 6.2 million are reserved, 1.7 million more than in the current year. For its part, the money allocated to Personnel expenses go from 3.78 to 4.03 million, as collected Ep.
In addition, the CIS plans to increase the size of its studies, then cooked by the socialist Tezanos, from the usual sample of 3,000 interviewees, to 4,000, “In such a way that more stable estimates are obtained, with tighter theoretical margins of error, which minimize the effect of total or partial non-response in the measurements,” according to the budget bill deposited this Wednesday in the lower house.
The Government argues that this sample size increases “the reliability and validity of the estimates obtained, both in statistical terms and in terms of design by increasing the number of interviews and the dispersion of sample points.”
Also, to ‘adequately calibrate the reliability of the data, the agency will continue to conduct parallel surveys of your ordinary studies, in such a way that the selection of CIS samples can be compared with that of private companies, which have greater contracting facilities with those surveyed than the public center, which to date has used randomly generated universal telephone bases ”, adds the bill.
Meanwhile, last week, the head of the Court of Instruction number 29 of Madrid, Cristina Díaz Márquez, summoned to testify as charged for next October 29, at 12:30 p.m., to the president of the Sociological Research Center (CIS), following a complaint filed by Vox by an alleged embezzlement crime of public funds with their polls manipulated to favor the PSOE.
The magistrate’s decision was adopted despite the fact that the Prosecutor’s Office interested the Court to file the complaint, considering that what is exposed “are mere suspicions, conjectures, which improperly relate the ineffectiveness in conducting surveys with the fraudulent administration of the CIS institution ”.
