He stole a boy's backpack on the bus and was caught by passengers

A young man named Rodrigo Quiroga was arrested on Tuesday night after stealing the backpack from a 13-year-old boy in a bus on Line 33, who then followed him – along with his father – to the house where he tried to hide.

It is not about the 34-year-old volleyball player who was the captain of the Argentine national team at the London 2012 Olympic Games (among other tournaments) but about a 22-year-old man living in Barrio Tránsito de Oro, Chimbas.

Just after 20, Quiroga got on the bus in Centenario before Cipolletti and faced the boy directly to try to snatch his backpack. The boy initially resisted and due to a kick that he hit him in the chest, Quiroga took the backpack and quickly got off the bus.

But the victims also got out and chased the 22-year-old, observing in the house he was entering. Thus, with the arrival of police from the Cipolleti Sub-Police Station, they apprehended the young man, who identified himself as Rodrigo Javier Quiroga (the athlete’s middle name is Daniel) and who is now facing charges for simple robbery.
