The actor Ludwig Haas is dead. This is reported by the “Bild-Zeitung” (Wednesday), citing “Das neue Blatt”. Accordingly, Haas died of old age at the age of 88.

“Ludwig felt pressure in his chest. The doctors inserted a stent for him. A few hours after the operation he suddenly felt worse. He died at three in the night,” the newspaper quoted his wife Marianne as saying. He is said to have been buried with his closest family in the Baltic Sea.

Haas became known for the role of Dr. Ludwig Dressler in the WDR series “Lindenstrasse”. He played the family doctor from episode 1 (December 8, 1985), and said goodbye in December 2019 with a TV suicide.

Haas has made a name for himself internationally as a film actor for Adolf Hitler. He played him in “Broken Chains – The Revenge of the Prisoners” (1988), “Like a Light in Dark Night” (1992) and in the French film “Pétain” (1993).
