Mark Allen has qualified for the second round of the Northern Ireland Open in style. In front of his own audience, he eliminated the Chinese Si Jiahuih with a maximum break, the 2nd 147 of his career.
The number 11 in the world could not believe his eyes that he could finish a 147 in front of his own audience. “I’ve never felt anything like it,” said the Northern Irishman.
“Not just to score a 147, but above all to do it in a tournament that means so much to me and to the eyes of friends and family… This is a memory I will cherish for a long time to come.”
“I had some tough moments. At the last black ball my arm wouldn’t stop shaking. I just had to punch and see what happened. The adrenaline rush was unbelievable.”
“I really wanted to do it for the supporters, I wanted to give them something back for the years of support.”
The Northern Ireland Open is the 3rd ranking tournament of the new season, where Judd Trump will defend his title.
