The Government of Pedro Sánchez will take the Budgets for 2022 to the Congress of Deputies next Wednesday after approving them in an extraordinary Council of Ministers last Thursday. The accounts will reach the Lower House a few days late, since they should have been presented at the end of last September, and, for now, with the refusal of ERC to facilitate its approval, as it did last year.
The date has been confirmed by the Minister Spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, in the traditional press conference after the Council held this Monday. It will be the Minister of Finance and Public Function, María Jesús Montero, who will deliver the accounts to the President of Congress, Meritxell Batet, at 12:30 pm.
“They are a roadmap in which the guarantee that we can continue to strengthen our Welfare State and the modernization of our country“, has assured the also person in charge of Territorial Policy and Public Function. In this sense, has assured that the Executive hopes” to unite to all the political forces so that the Budgets are a reality “.
However, it does not seem like an easy mission judging by the statements of Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC), which this Monday has denied that, for the moment, it has the mentality to support them. The Republican spokeswoman, Marta Vilalta, has opined that the Executive “has not done its homework” and “is not doing everything it should do if it wants to have sufficient support.”
