The Queen Rania from Jordan recently spoke about what motivated her to join the prince William it’s at Kate to The Earthshot Prize, a gala event that takes place next Sunday, the 17th, in which prizes will be awarded to people with innovative ideas, who work for the preservation of the environment.
Rania belongs to the jury that decides who will be the winners of the awards this year. “When it comes to saving our planet, giving up is simply not an option”, affirmed the monarch, still saying that she feels “Honored” for being part of this event.
“Climate change comes close to my home. My country, Jordan, is one of the four driest nations in the world, and we share our water supply, which is limited, with a significant refugee population. With rising temperatures and changing weather patterns, scientists predict that Jordan will have even less rain in coming years. Currently, the dams are drying up and the Dead Sea is shrinking”, said the queen, underlining her concern with the preservation of the environment.
It should be recalled that, at this event, several well-known faces of the public will be present, such as the actresses Emma Thompson e Emma watson, the singers Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes e Yemi Alade, you Coldplay, the actor David oyelowo and the Liverpool player Mohamed Salah, as well as the naturalist David Attenborough, 95 years old.
