Chihuahua.- The Head of the Public Security Directorate of the Municipality of Matamoros, Chihuahua, identified as Hugo Gerardo CB, was arrested this weekend by elements of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) as allegedly responsible for the crimes of homicide and organized crime.
The Mexican Army troops placed the detainee at the disposal of the State Attorney General’s Office after the execution of the arrest warrant derived from criminal case 300/2021 issued by the Control Judge since June 14, 2021.
“According to the investigations carried out, the events attributed to the police command occurred on the night of May 31, 2021 outside a home in the aforementioned municipality, where, in the company of other people, he detonated a firearm against of a person, causing injuries that caused death, “the FGE reported in a statement on Sunday afternoon.
The FGE established through the investigations that before the fact, those involved used a vehicle to carry out surveillance actions.
Similarly, the FGE determined in its investigations that the alleged criminals used a vehicle to carry out surveillance actions before using the same unit during the day of the crime.
“With the evidence that confirmed the alleged participation of Hugo Gerardo CB in the crimes of homicide and organized crime, the Prosecutor’s Office requested the arrest warrant, with which he was detained and made available to the Control Judge,” added the FGE .

At the hearing held this Sunday, an Agent of the Public Ministry made the accusation and then the preventive detention was determined as a precautionary measure. It will be until October 15 that a hearing will be held on whether or not to link to the process.
