Tottenham transfer chief Fabio Paratici insists Harry Kane ‘loves’ his childhood club and will stay on to lead the ‘rebuilding’ of the squad.
Kane wanted to leave Spurs over the summer, but the club resisted Man City’s approaches and their price ultimately barred any deal.
Kane has yet to score in six games so far
It was thought they wanted £ 150million for the England international and that turned out to be too much, especially with City paying out £ 100million for Jack Grealish.
The forward wants to win trophies and it is understood that he believed he had a gentleman’s agreement with Daniel Levy that would allow him to leave in the summer transfer window.
However, he ended up staying and is still under contract until 2024.
According to The Sun, Paratici said: “Harry Kane loves Tottenham.
“We decided to keep Harry last summer to start the rebuild, and we are happy with our choice.
“There is no need for another discussion with Harry.
“He knows how to share the feeling of belonging to Spurs.
Paratici has a big job to do to rebuild Spurs fortunes
Kane has six goals this season, but has yet to score in the Premier League in five appearances.
It hasn’t been the best start for the forward in the league, but he’s enjoyed scoring goals elsewhere.
Although he has none in the Premier League, Kane has scored six goals in ten club appearances in all competitions so far this season, with five goals in the European Conference League and one in the Carabao Cup.
For England, the captain scored in all three World Cup qualifiers in September to take him to 41 in 64 games for his country.
Kane has been in good shape for England and in cup competitions
He didn’t play in the 5-0 win over Andorra, but could play Hungary on Tuesday at Wembley – which you can hear live on talkSPORT.
The 28-year-old is just two goals away from breaking Wayne Rooney’s record for most competitive goals for England.
