France won the second edition of the UEFA Nations League by beating a France that was in tow and won without deserving it. Oyarzabal had done the most difficult by overtaking Spain, but a goal from Benzemza and a last goal from Mbappé in an offside which seemed free, they left the team without the title.

Luis Enrique never disappoints and has two surprises in store. The challenged Eric Garcia entered the central axis, while Rodri reinforced the medulla. The City midfielder was inside on the left, so Luis Enrique kept the 4-3-3. His main task was to stop Pogba and ensure good circulation of the ball.

The start was difficult. France pushed high and recovered in the opposite field. The Red didn’t crumple and Gavi, above all, was energetic cut French advances. However, Benzema found a space to stand alone before Unai Simón, but he narrowed a lot in his dribble towards the goalkeeper and Azpilicueta cleared the pass back.

A very clear opportunity, although Spain has managed that it does not have continuity. The team little by little he was stretching with Ferran Torres, recovered from his discomfort, in reference to the exit on the right. The first Spanish occasion left his boots with a bad definition of Sarabia.

Duel Gavi-Pogba

The selection imposed its game, took the ball, even if it lacked punch. The game went off without a hitch until the three-quarter zone, where France imposed its power to stop the offensive. Gavi’s shenanigans were the main hope at the edge of the area. His self-confidence even led him to leave Pogba and generate some serious trouble.

Spanish domination could not be endangered beyond a long free kick attempted by Marcos Alonso without consequences.

Spain came to the stand convinced that they had tied up the Gauls, but that they needed more in attack. The team mounted the pressure and there were some interesting recoveries. In one of them, Sarabia went into the box and the lack of finesse in the center doomed the game.

Frantic end

Selection was on the line and that also led to some space behind the back. A snatch from Pogba broke the lines, Mbappé and Benzema combine quickly and Théo, with a good shot, hits the crossbar.

A huge fear that was offset by a long bullet from Busquets to Oyarzabal, who won the position at Upamecano and scored with a cross shot. A great goal and a fleeting joy. Almost in the next action, Benzema invented a screw thread on the square and put the tables back.

France woke up with the goal against and especially Kylian Mbappé. The beast woke up and pretended to do two actions before the third, very close to the offside, faces Unai Simón and beat low.

A blow against which Spain courageously resisted and then the Lloris appeared. The veteran goalkeeper took out two prodigious hands from Oyarzabal and Mikel Merino to hold the French. La Roja was thrown into a tornado, with Unai Simón embedded in the corners, but it was no longer possible to force the extension.
