Ghostface is back: 'Scream 5' first poster

Lately a trend is being registered according to which the new deliveries of great horror franchises, although they do not represent a remake, are renamed the same as the founding films for confusion of the fandom. Has happened with The halloween night (That this October 22 premieres sequel, Halloween Kills), with candy man, and it will also happen with Scream, title of the fifth installment of the Ghostface saga. Beyond how unnerving this custom may be (and despite the absence of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson as director and screenwriter), the resulting Scream 5 is propping up a hype considerable, thanks to a dose of information about the virtually non-existent plot and the return of key players in the saga.

In this way, the new Scream once again has the presence of Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, in addition to with Mary Shelton (who we met in the fourth installment). The directors are Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (duo after Wedding night) staging a script of James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, and the film has already concluded its filming. In fact, the release date is quite close: January 14, 2022Hence the lack of details about the film so far surprising… but this is about to end. Scream has just revealed a first poster where Ghostface appears (whose mask could camouflage anyone as the slogan points out, “It is always someone you know”), in parallel to specifying when the first trailer will be released.

‘Scream’ poster

It will happen this Tuesday October 12 °, although if someone searches the Internet it is possible that it is already filtered and in poor quality. Scream tells how a young woman returns to her town and it begins to be harassed by the murders of a new Ghostface, and beyond the veterans we can highlight in its cast the presence of Jenna Ortega (linked as protagonist to Wednesday, spin-off from The Addams Family who drives Tim Burton para Netflix), Melissa barrera (seen in In a New York neighborhood), Jack Quaid (The Boys) and Dylan Minnette (For 13 reasons). It is foreseeable that several of them will not arrive alive at the end of this long-awaited fifth installment.
