Madrid – Sunday, 10/10/2021, 7:02 p.m.

Bernd Wiesberger confirmed his upward trend on the final day of the European Tour tournament in Madrid with a strong final round of 66 strokes. With six birdies and a bogey on the last hole, the Burgenlander improved by nine positions to eleventh on Sunday.

He gives a better placement on the 18th hole (picture) when he warps his drive and then loses a shot with a failed chip. With a total of 270, he has three more strokes than a third-placed trio.

The race for victory is exciting. Only in the jump-off does the Spaniard Rafa Cabrera Bello prevail against his compatriot Adri Arnaus. Wiesberger is five strokes behind the winner.
