Madrid has been the setting for a new spectacular stop at Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank 2021, held in a double day and with the participation of 373 male and female players spread over 87 teams.
Framed in the Madrid Urban Sports program, the sixth stop of the circuit this year after its previous steps through Valencia, Castelln, Malaga, Barcelona and Cceres- has resulted in a new success of participation, basketball and conviviality for all ages, reaffirming itself as the largest 3×3 basketball event in Spain. free and in the open air, which has been held with the strictest compliance with health protocols that have guaranteed the health of participants.

Competitions of all categories have been played, from Pre-Mini to Senior, and in total 185 games have been played. The two days began at 11:00 a.m. and lasted until after 6:00 p.m., and both had the presence and animation of the FEB ambassador, Fernando Romay, who has directed and entertained various contests for all participants. At the end of each of the two days, the prizes were awarded to the winning teams in each of the categories.
In addition, in the two days more than 5,000 visitors have passed. A team of more than 25 volunteers assigned to the FEB-CaixaBank Volunteer Program have also participated in its development. The Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank in the Matadero Madrid has had the collaboration of the Madrid City Council and the Madrid Basketball Federation. All the institutions have been represented by a spokesperson, who has appreciated this new organizational success.

The FEB and CaixaBank launched the Plaza 3×3 program in 2012. Since then, this free 3×3 basketball championship has become the largest traveling basketball circuit in all of Spain. The nine stops of 2019, the last that could be held, raised the figures for this street basketball promotion program to more than 42,000 participants and 200,000 visitors. A very positive balance of this emblematic program, which in its eight editions has already visited 39 cities throughout Spain.
CaixaBank is a sponsoring partner of the Spanish Basketball Federation and official sponsor of the Spanish National Team in all its categories, male and female. The financial entity has been involved with national basketball since 2013 and its involvement and activation of multiple initiatives around this sport have helped to make visible and expand the impact of the greatest international successes.

After seven years, the program has managed to build a strong community of almost 20,000 volunteers, who support all official basketball events organized by the FEB.
