The Spanish international Marcos Alonso wanted to have an emotional detail with his father for the final of the League of Nations that will play this Sunday Spain and France. The Chelsea player will appear on the pitch with very special shin guards for the occasion and in which he pays tribute to his father, who was also international 22 times with the Spanish team in the 80s.

In the shin guard you can see all kinds of details starting with a photo of Marcos Sr. – taken from a chrome of the time – with the Atlético de Madrid shirt, club with which he played five seasons in the First Division. Alonso is part of a family saga of elite footballers following the path of his grandfather, known as ‘Marquitos’, winner of five European Cups with Real Madrid.

Marcos Alonso leaves a hole in his shin guard to put his favorite number, on the 28th, with the flag of Spain in the background. The player was born that day and made his debut for Real Madrid with that number on his back. Later He shone in his journeys with Sunderland and Fiorentina, always being the number that has accompanied him on the big events.

The winger was one of the highlights in Spain’s triumph against Italy in the semi-finals of the Nations League and, predictably, will maintain his starting position in the final against France. To win this title, Marcos Alonso will sign a dream 2021 after lifting the Champions League and the European Super Cup with Chelsea.
