A resident of the UK decided to lose weight after seeing pictures of herself from a wedding where she was a bridesmaid. She shared her story with the Daily Mirror.
Natalia Georgis from London said that she did not think about her weight until she went to her friend’s wedding. Photos taken during the celebration spoiled her impression of the holiday and made her want to lose weight.
The wedding took place in May 2019 when the woman weighed 135 kilograms. She began to study all possible options for losing weight, and decided to go for gastric sleeve surgery. “For two weeks before the operation, I drank only milk and allowed myself one bouillon cube a day to maintain the right blood sugar level,” recalls Georges.
Doctors immediately warned the woman that the operation would help to lose only part of the weight, while the rest would require exercise and proper nutrition. Once Georges recovered from gastroplasty, she started going to the gym four times a week, and after the lockdown began, she continued to train at home. “Even when I didn’t want to train, I forced myself, reminding myself what I was working for,” says the woman.
In addition, she completely changed her diet and now eats exclusively self-prepared food. Georgis admitted that before she could not resist fast food and food from take-away establishments, but after deciding to lose weight, she began to cook a lot and fell in love with this process.
In the two years and a half years that have passed since that wedding, the woman has lost 74 kilograms, and now weighs 61 kilograms. Jordis believes losing weight has had a positive impact not only on her weight, but also on her mental health and self-confidence.
Earlier it was reported that the British couple got married after losing 133 kilograms for two. The lovers postponed the celebration for 15 years.
